Dani Shapiro's most recent books include the memoirs Devotion and Slow Motion, and the novels Black & White and Family History. Her essays and stories have appeared in The New Yorker, Vogue, Elle, The New York Times Book Review, The Los Angeles Times, and have been widely anthologized. She recently was Oprah Winfrey's guest on "Super Soul Sunday." She has been a professor at Columbia University, NYU, and The New School, and now teaches popular retreats and workshops all over the world, incorporating her longtime yoga and meditation practice with the rigorous and deep practice of writing. Her most recent book is Still Writing: The Pleasures and Perils of a Creative Life.
